Exsultatio Sportiva, meaning "Rejoicing in Sports," is a sports meet organized by the Youth Commission of the Archdiocese of Hyderabad on November 9th and 10th at Don Bosco Navjeevan, Ramanthapur. The event aimed to bring together young Catholics to promote teamwork, discipline, and a spirit of healthy competition through various athletic and team-based games.
The day began with a short prayer service followed by a creative march past and the declaration of the opening of the Sports Meet which was graced by Rev Fr Arogya Reddy SDB the administrator of Don Bosco Navjeevan.
The day was filled with exciting and competitive events. The activities covered a wide range of sports, including: Football,Basketball, Volleyball ,Throwball, Kho Kho, Tug of War, badminton, 100m Race & Relay, Each game was carefully organized, with teams competing fiercely yet maintaining respect for one another.
Several teams from various parishes joined in the spirit of healthy competition. Coaches and volunteers actively supported their teams, emphasizing discipline, fair play, and the joy of participation over winning. The unity among teams was evident as players and coaches alike encouraged one another across all games.
Key games like the finals of football and basketball were crowd favorites, with thrilling moments and exceptional performances by standout athletes.
Teams had their cheering squads, creating a lively and encouraging atmosphere.
The event formally ended by a closing ceremony which was graced by Rev Fr. Bala showry the Vicar General or the Archdiocese of Hyderabad, Rev Fr. Bali SDB, the rector of Don Bosco Navjeevan and Rev Fr. Arogya Reddy SDB administrator of Don Bosco Navjeevan. Winning teams were honored, and participants received certificates and medals, celebrating their efforts and sportsmanship.
The closing ceremony celebrated the accomplishments of each participant, with an emphasis on gratitude and blessings for their athletic and spiritual growth. Trophies and medals were awarded to top teams and outstanding players, recognizing their dedication and skills.
Exsultatio Sportiva successfully combined faith and sports, allowing young Catholics to strengthen their bonds, Strengthen faith-based friendships and leadership through sports, celebrate their talents, and experience the joy of community.
