Brief History of Madinaguda Parish

Madinaguda was erected as a new Parish on 22nd May, 2016 bifurcating it from Miyapur Mission Centre. It is situated in a corner of St. Ann’s CSSA Provincialate Campus. Previously it was under the pastoral care of the SVD Fathers, Miyapur Mission Centre. Taking into consideration the fast growing Catholic Community, the increasing spiritual & pastoral needs of the Faithful at Madinaguda and its adjacent areas and in consultation with the Archdiocesan Consultors’ Body, Archbishop Thumma Bala erected Madinaguda as a new Parish with effect from 22 May, 2016. It was solemnly blessed and inaugurated by Archbishop Thumma Bala on 24th July, 2016 and named as ‘Divine Mercy Church’. The National Mumbai highway passes through the Centre of the Parish territory. It comes under the GHMC Serilingampally constiuency. Fr. Yeruva Joji Reddy is the first Parish Priest of this Parish. The Church was renovated and the blessing of the renovated Divine Mercy Parish Church took place on 10th June, 2018 by Archbishop Thumma Bala. Added to that, a Community Hall was built on upstairs of the Church and it was blessed by Archbishop Thumma Bala on 01st January, 2019 during his 01st pastoral visit followed by Holy Mass.

Miyapur Mission Centre Boundaries : South-Miyapur Circle: Hydernagar - Nizampet ‘X’ Road, Balaji Nagar-Miyapur ‘X’ Road, R.B.R. Complex, Cine town/Talky Town.

North-Bachupally: Srivani Nagar, JMJ Snehasadan, Bachupally. West-HMT: Video Colony, Prashanth Nagar, J.P. Nagar, West City, K.S. Enclave, Arvindo Colony, P.T.R. Colony, H.M.T. Swarnapuri Colony, R.T.C. Colony.

East-Mayuri Nagar: Mayuri Nagar & Nizampet Village (west part next to Bachupally)

Madinaguda Parish Boundaries : South-Kothaguda Cross Roads (Kondapur): Kondapur Bus- station, Police battalion, Raghavenra Colony, Oppt. to R.T.O. Office area, Bhairava Nagar, Hafizpet, Prakash Nagar, Indra Reddy Allwyn Colony (Manjeera Pipe Line Road), Vyshali Nagar, Maithri Nagar & Madinaguda Village.

North - Miyapur Circle (Behind St. Ann’s School): Deepthi Sri Nagar Colony, Shanthi Nagar Colony, Miyapur Police Station. East-Metro Station Miyapur Pillar No. 18: Metro Water Works, Calvary Road-1, SMR Fountain, Shilpa Avenue Colony, Matru Sri Nagar Colony, Madhava Rao Nagar Colony & Janapriya Nagar Colony.

Two Areas: ‘Huda Colony & Rtc Colony’ Of Ramachandrapuram Parish : The two areas: ‘HUDA Colony & RTC Colony’ were under the pastoral care of Ramachandrapuram Parish for two years from May 2016 to April 2018, after that they are brought under the pastoral care of Madinaguda Parish starting from May 2018.

Men & Women Religious Congregations

Congregation Of Sisters Of St. Ann, Phirangipuram (CSSA) : They established their community at Madinaguda on 24th July, 1997. St. Ann’s E.M. School established on 15th June, 1998. Regional House was established on 04th May, 2002. St. Ann’s Hostel for children was established on 14th June, 2004, but later it was closed. St. Ann’s Formation House (Aspirants) was established on 01st June, 2010. Evangelization Centre was established on 03rd July, 2013 and later shifted to Karunapuram, Warangal. Mission of the Congregation is Education and Evangelization. Ministries in the Parish are teaching catechism, visiting families, preparing children and adults for Sacraments, Church duties, singing and decoration in the Church.
