Brief History of Medipally Parish

Medipally was the Sub-station of Ghatkesar Parish which was erected in 2003 and entrusted to the Missionaries of St. Francis de Sales. The MSFS fathers began educational apostolate in the form of St. Francis de Sales High School at Medipally in 2004. At that time the Catholic Faithful consisting of 30 families gathered at Mr. N. Joseph’s (BSNL) house to celebrate the Sunday Mass and prayer meetings. In 2006, a modest hall was built to meet the spiritual needs of the growing Catholic population. Archbishop Marampudi Joji on 14th September, 2008 erected Medipally as an independent Parish. As Medipally falls under industrial belt many families from the city and surrounding Villages of Nalgonda and Warangal Dioceses moved to Medipally area for job, business and other works. The Parish grew very much during the past 10 years.

In 2017, the Parish had approximately 300 families. In the same year Archbishop Thumma Bala bifurcated Medipally Parish and erected Boduppal Mission Centre under the Patronage of Our Lady of Fatima and entrusted it to the Society of the Holy Spirit (SHS) C/o Fr. Christu Raj (SHS) with the understanding of MSFS Fathers. The Boundaries between the Boduppal new Mission Centre and Medipally Parish is the Main Road going to Warangal through Uppal from Hyderabad/Secunderabad through Uppal (right side of it is Medipally Parish and the left side of it is Boduppal new Mission Centre, without any exception of any area on either-side). On 23rd September, 2018 the Parish celebrated the Decennial Anniversary of its formation with Solemn Holy Eucharistic celebration presided over by Archbishop Thumma Bala, and concelebrated by Fr. Chinnappareddy MSFS, Provincial Superior and many other Priests. Religious and the Faithful participated in large members. There are about 250 Catholic Families in the Parish now.

Apart from the pastoral care of the above mentioned Parish, MSFS Fathers also established SFS School (Nursery to 10th) at Medipally and it was blessed by Archbishop Marampudi Joji and inaugurated by Fr. Thomas Perumalil, MSFS Provincial on 5th July, 2004.
